The federal government is failing to keep up with a growing number of judicial vacancies in Canada. As a result, murderers and other violent offenders are walking free. One such matter at risk of being stayed or dismissed is the alleged double murder case involving victims Taliyah and Sara, and the accused Edward Downey
The federal government and Justin Trudeau are more interested in making excuses for criminals instead of supporting and providing justice to the victims of crimes and their families.
Even the Canadian Bar Association has asked the Justice Minister to urgently address the situation as court delays are seriously undermining Canadians’ confidence in our justice system.
MPs Michelle Rempel and Michael Cooper are asking Canadians to sign and share the petition calling on the government to fill the judicial vacancies and support Canada's victims of crime.
Write to Canada's Minister of Justice, Jody Wilson-Raybould, and tell her to do her job and appoint judges.
Tell her to fill the judicial vacancies and to stand up for Canada's victims of crimes and their families.
Copy MPs Michelle Rempel and Michael Cooper to let them know you support their efforts as well.
